I'm an Oscar nominated, Emmy winning director, animation director and writer with extensive experience on everything from commercials to feature films where I’ve created scores of memorable characters including the original Coca-Cola Polar Bears, Stuart Little and Gnomeo & Juliet.
I graduated from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where I studied traditional 2D animation with teachers whose experience dated back to the 1940s at Disney, MGM, Warner Bros. and other studios. That classical training instilled in me the belief that animated actors are no different than their live-action counterparts, a philosophy that I’ve brought to 3D computer graphics as a pioneer in digital productions.
I've won several Clio Awards for my commercial work, an Annie Award from ASIFA-Hollywood, and I’m a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS), the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) and the Writer’s Guild.
